Inclusion, Diversity and Equity for All Committee (IDEA Committee). The IDEA committee will work with our school community to ensure that diversity, in its many forms, is understood, respected and valued. Our goal is to support meaningful inclusion of teachers, parents, and students from all backgrounds to foster understanding and promote outreach to advance tolerance, and acceptance of differences in ethnicity, culture, religion, identity, and abilities. The committee will seek to develop new events and initiatives while also supporting existing PTA activities to promote inclusion and understanding of all members of our vibrant community.
Join us for the IDEA Committee Cultural Fair in conjunction with the school's 100th Anniversary on June 3! Keep an eye out for a pamphlet in your children's communication folders with ideas for how to participate and email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to be a part of this wonderful event!
Happy March and welcome back to school! The IDEA Committee is excited to share with you our parent newsletter and virtual classroom for PS 185 families and students for Black History Month! Good thing Black History is a huge part of American History and important to learn about each and every month. There is no need to rush through this content just because February has come to an end! Our resources this month focus on Black joy, beauty, and brilliance. There are tons of resources and we hope many of you will take a peek and decide what you'd like to share with your children. Enjoy!
